Our Heritage

Ahoobaa Kese Festival

Europe Edition of Ahoobaa Kese

FANTEFEST London 2026 is the international Europe Edition of the revered Ahoobaa Kese Festival, observed across Fante traditional states in Ghana's Central Region including Abura, Abeadze, Anomabo, Ajumako, Nkuskum, Gomoa, Ekumfi, Efutu, Kwamankese, Enyan, Asebu and allied areas.

Purification, Renewal and Unity

Traditionally, Ahoobaa Kese represents a sacred period of purification, renewal, reconciliation and unity, bringing chiefs, elders, Asafo companies, families and communities together to reaffirm identity, honour ancestry and strengthen collective progress.

A Civilisation of Leadership

At the heart of the festival is the historical resilience of the Fante people: a civilisation shaped by migration, diplomacy, commerce, military organisation, leadership and cultural sophistication long before colonial contact.
